This event combines the speed, power and luxury of a performance powerboat, with the elegance and excitement of a sailing yacht and of course the thrills and spills of an adrenaline fuelled ride on a RIB!
All guests will experience as little or as much as they feel comfortable with, making it the perfect day out for a group with wildly differing levels of experiences on the water.
All the sailing yachts and powerboats are luxuriously appointed, very comfortable and provide you with your own exclusive venue where you can impress your clients or reward your staff with fine wines, chilled Champagne and great food!
Having experienced sailing, power boating and cruising in a rib at speeds in excess of 40 knots, each of your guests will finish the day with their own personal favourite… guaranteed!
Any size of yachts and powerboats can be used, depending on the size of the group and the budget.

Guests will arrive at the Royal Southern Yacht Club for a breakfast reception consisting of bacon sandwiches, a selection of Danish pastries, tea, coffee, and fresh juices. The yacht club is based on the beautiful River Hamble on the South coast with easy access into the sheltered sailing waters of the Solent and only a 15 – minute drive from junction 8 of the M27.
At the end of the breakfast reception there will be a safety briefing by your event manager and an introduction to the skippers (who will be commercially endorsed DOT Yachtmasters or equivalent). At the same time we will cover the plan for the day and answer any questions your guests may have. We will then leave the dock in the yachts for a gentle 5 – minute cruise out of the river and into the Solent.
This will give participants the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the vessels. During the morning half the guests will get their first taste of cruising onboard a luxury cruising yacht, every one will get plenty of opportunity to try some hands on sail handling, manoeuvres and helming, while the rest of the group will experience the thrills and spills of driving a high performance powerboat and cruising to places as far a field as the Needles on the western tip of the Isle of Wight.
A high performance rib will also be on hand to take guests on a 50mph ride of the Solent that we guarantee will be a ride no one will ever forget…for all the right reasons..
Lunch will be served on board the powerboat by your host, at one of the many sheltered anchorages around the Solent. It will include a 3 course summer buffet lunch (see below) accompanied by fine wines and chilled beers. The lunch break will give the group a chance to chat over the morning’s events. (We recommend on combination days with more that 30 guests onboard, that lunch is served ashore, this gives the group a better chance to meet up and mingle and chat about the day)
During the afternoon your guests will have the chance to change boats, allowing the sailors to change to power and the power boaters to try their hand at sailing, in addition to this the rib will be
continually taking guests for short high speed rides around the sheltered waters of the Solent.
The yachts will cruise in company and may even be encouraged to join in on a short friendly race! All boats will eventually cruise back to the Hamble River and the Royal Southern Yacht Club.
Afternoon tea and cakes will be served at the Yacht Club on the upper balcony over looking the Hamble River before the group departs at their leisure at approximately 1730 hrs
Note – Marine Events Ltd holds a full alcohol licence to serve guests onboard our vessels. This is now a requirement by law.
