CHOOSING ON WATER HOSPITALITY DURING THE ACWS……………WHY?
CHOOSING MARINE EVENTS TO HOST YOUR DAY………………WHY?
SUGGESTED ITINERARY – VENUE
0945 – Guests will arrive at the yachts for a morning breakfast reception, this will include, tea, coffee, fresh juices and a selection of fresh Danishes. The venue to meet the yachts is still to be confirmed, but it is likely to be Ports Solent in Portsmouth Harbour, the same as in 2016, this venue is only 5 minutes from the M27 and has easy access into the sheltered sailing waters of the Solent and the location of the America’s Cup World Series.
There is also an option to upgrade your breakfast reception to include a Champagne Reception, consisting of smoked salmon and cream cheese croissants, Danish pastries, strawberries, tea, coffee and fresh juices.
MORNING EVENT
At the end of the breakfast reception there will be a safety briefing by your professional skipper and Hostess. We will then leave the dock in the yacht for a gentle 30-minute cruise out of Portsmouth’s historic harbour and into the Solent. This will give participants the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the vessels.
During the morning we will cruise the boat around the viewing area, the skipper will have weather forecasts and we will be issued with the course that the yachts will race, from this information we can choose the best location on the race course to ensure a great viewing experience, if you have VIP exclusion Zone access then your position will be decided for you…front row centre!
Pictures taken from on board our sailing Yacht at the 2015 event from within the exclusion zone
For only the second time in over 150 years an English sailor will be competing in English waters for an America’s cup trophy.
Sir Ben Ainslie and his elite team will be racing their state of the art foiling AC75’s in a fleet race, on a VERY small course just off Southsea common near Portsmouth, the racing will be close to the shore, but by far the best way to watch will be from a boat on the water.
There will be an ‘official exclusion zone’ where only boats booked on the official hospitality packages will be permitted to go, these boats will have front row, unrestricted viewing of the racing while marshals keep the area’s clear. Marine Events have been announced as official suppliers for this ACWS.
There will be a second area that will be a public viewing area, at this stage we cannot confirm how close we will be able to get to the racing or how much will be seen, but in 2016 all boats we had on the water, VIP or not were able to get superb viewing.
Here are some shots of the radical new foiling mono hulls, before the America’s cup these boats and design had never been tested or raced before, cutting edge new technology and coming to Portsmouth!
LUNCH
1300 – Building on our experience from 2015 and 2016, we found that having a luxury buffet lunch on board, although superb food, was not perfect for the race viewing day, we found that boats would watch all the racing, then later in the day head back to the Marina for their lunch, which worked out to be quite late. So in 2016 we started introducing a luxury ‘Hamper’ lunch, each client has their own pre prepared ‘hamper’ with a range of quality food that can be eaten with ease while the boat is cruising and watching the racing. Accompany this with some fine wine and some chilled beers and this solution has already proved to be a winner on many of the charters we have done and will be a continued feature in 2020.
AFTERNOON RACING
During the afternoon we will manoeuvre the boat to the best position we can find to watch the racing, as we have said we cannot guarantee front row seats, unless you decide to book the exclusion zone VIP tickets, but as highlighted before, we will however get you as close as possible to the racing action. The racing is due to start at 14.30 and each race will be approximately 25 – 30 minutes, there will be 3 races. The course is only 1.2 miles long so the racing will be fast, close and very exciting.
The yachts will finish racing at approximately 4.30pm at which point we will cruise back to our home port
AFTERNOON TEA
1630hrs – Afternoon tea, with scones and clotted cream will be served onboard the powerboats as they cruise back up the harbour to their base before the group departs at their leisure at approximately 1700hrs
(6 bottles of wine, 1 case of lager, 1 litre of Pimms with lemonade, Strawberries, mint etc)
hospitality for over 20 years

THE MOODY 66
Quite simply the Moody 66 is one of the largest most luxurious private cruising yachts available for charter in the Solent in 2020
These yachts are approximately 70 feet in length and weigh in the region of 38 tonnes, they are operated by electric winches and hydraulic furling systems providing your guests with the ultimate in power and indulgence.
The vast open cushioned cockpit and uncluttered teak decks provide you with endless space for entertaining your guests unfamiliar with sailing boats, but still allowing the more experienced sailors to “play” with the power that these incredible yachts generate.
Luxury 40 foot sailing Catamaran
We now have two 40 foot cats, they are proving to be popular cruising boats for corporate events, they provide fast fun sailing but on a stable flat platform.
A 40ft Catamaran provides the same amount of space as a 70 foot Mono hull, yet is flat and stable due to its two hull and massive beam, ideal when spectating sailing events like the America’s Cup and Sail GP.
They have vast open cockpits, designed for outdoor living with a rigid canopy so if it does rain your guests can still sail in the dry, the deck space goes on and on with seating all around the boat.
