SailGP will start its European season in July, touching down in Portsmouth following the American leg of the global championship’s 5th season.
Now in its 5th season, the SailGP series is continuing re-defining the sport of sailing while providing one of the best race series on the planet for us, the spectators to watch.
The great news is that during its tour of the world, Portsmouth will be hosting the 8th regatta in the Sail GP Championship. With a long history of sailing and unrivaled Solent racing conditions, this event will (in our opinion) be the best by far (but then we are biased) and we will be there to support all 12 teams, but especially Emirates Team GB with Olympic Gold Medalist Dylan Fletcher taking the helm.

The racing takes place in some of the world’s most iconic sailing locations, where athletes from rival nations will race head-to-head on this insane fleet of IDENTICAL F50 wing-powered catamarans, which fly above the water on wave-piercing hydrofoils at speeds of over 50 knots (up to nearly 100 kmh).
The sailors – world champions, Olympic medalists, America’s Cup winners – represent the best sailing talent their nations have produced. We Want to ensure that the Emirates Team GB team get the best home advantage with huge crowds to support them on the water.
SailGP is sailing, fuelled by adrenaline. Established in 2018, the fleet has been growing year on year now with 12 amazing teams involved, not to be out done the venues have been increasing as well, now up to an incredible 14 venues reaching out to all corners of the globe.
The fan-focused inshore racing, takes place on short, easy to view ‘stadium style’ race courses, culminating in the final showdown in Abu Dhabi in November 2025.
Rival national teams from 12 countries will battle it out in identical supercharged ‘flying’ catamarans, engineered for intense racing at electrifying speeds exceeding 50 knots (100 kph). The racing is breathtakingly fast, scarily close and unbelievably exciting, taking yacht racing in a totally new direction, a direction we most definitely want to watch.
